Looking Further Ahead

St Stephen's celebrates its Centenary in 2009. We will begin a week of special events on 10th May with a Festival Eucharist at 10am at which the Rt. Revd. Tom Butler, Bishop of Southwark, will preach and preside. This will befollowed by a 'foods of the world' church lunch and a fun afternoon with steel band, bouncy castle and a balloon race.

During the week there will be displays and exhibitions and the church will be open. On Sunday17th May the Bishop of Croydon, the Rt Revd. Nick Baines, will preach and preside. Other likely events include a Gospel Concert (probably on 16th May) and a 'Songs of Praise' service.

During 2009 we are aiming to read through the Bible as a church. We will also launch a Centenary Appeal Fund to raise money for internal glass doors to make our church building as welcoming as possible.
